Avient's Digital Color Prediction Service for Post-Consumer Recycled Content

Nominated by USA Today as one of America’s Climate Leaders for 2023, Avient is committed to sustainability with a proactive approach to addressing climate change. The company’s portfolios of polymer additives and colorants include many sustainable technologies, with goals to launch even more sustainable solutions each year.
Avient achieved its most recent success in Europe with its Color Prediction Service, a digital color service supporting the coloration of post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin by digitally illustrating the color possibilities or limitations of certain types of PCR. A collaboration with L’Oréal enabled the personal care company to use this solution to help launch its new Redken packaging in 2022. This helped simplify L’Oréal’s overall decision-making process, shortening the time-to-launch for this new product range.

Additionally, Avient was the grateful recipient of two awards for the Color Prediction Service in recent months, including the Product Technology Innovation Award at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) 2023 event. The judges were particularly impressed by the service’s potential to open the door to using plastic recyclates in an increasing range of aesthetic applications. Avient’s Color Prediction Service was also awarded the 2023 Re|focus Sustainability Innovation in Design Award by The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS).
